Bass were pushed up pretty shallow chasing small minnows and bluegill. Work a bladed jig, swimbait or swim jig slowly through the weed cover.

The bass were in 8-10 feet of water where rocks and gravel meet weeds. The best action was where the greenest coontail was next to the rocks. Dying cabbage only produced a few smaller fish.

I found the bass in 9-12 ft. of water along the weedline. The bigger fish were on hard spots along the weeds. I had to be occasionally snagging weeds to get bites. This bite is only going to get better in the next couple of weeks.

The bass are starting to show fall patterns. Large schools of bluegill are congragating out on deep rock and weed edges. If rock exists on a weed edge, even better. Tossing a 1/2oz spinnerbait was the tickets. Let it hit bottom and slowly work it back to the boat.
