Casting from the bank or public dock with a slow swim-shake retrieve. Has been a consistent bite getter! Loads of crappie and some nice bass as well.

Water temps mid 60s with scattered rain throughout the day. Caught a ton of quality fish flippin a crawtube on reed/cattail edges, brush, and whatever I saw in front of me. Also got some bigger bites pitching to light spots which were most likely bedding fish.

The bass are spread out. Some are spawning and others are pre-spawn. Caught big females in both deeper water adjacent to spawning areas as well as tucked way back into the spawning areas. Grab a moving bait and cover as much water as possible. Spinnerbait, chatterbait, underspin, paddle tail swimbait, etc.

Wacky rigs were working great. Fish were in 5-6' off of the weed edge in the afternoon. As it got later in the evening some better quality fish were caught closer to the weed egde.

Water temp pushing 67 in some areas, air temp in the 60s. Found an early morning bite in way back of bays slowly working a popper around hard cover. If they missed a popper I’d throw a t-rig stick bait as a follow up.

The small males are up shallow looking for areas to make beds. The larger females are out a little deeper in about 5-12' depending on location. Locate panfish on down imaging or by sight. Short, submerged vegetation and hard bottom areas were key. Cast a retrieve a spinnerbait, swimjig or chatterbait to trick the big girls into biting.
