Water level was high. Key targets were overhanging trees with easy deep water access nearby. My best bites came when I skipped the jig as far back to the bank as I could. The fast gear ratio on the curado was key to catching up with the fish because they would run straight at the boat trying get to the deep water

Key targets were boulders and rock piles in 4ft.-10ft. flats leading into spawning pockets. Banging the bait into the rocks triggered the bite.

No tech on the yak, getting familiar with the Omnia app maps and figuring out some off shore structure patterns. Definitely a change for me, I'm usually a bank angler, whether I'm casting from it or to it. I had a couple hits on the spinnerbait, but short strikes became a problem. This time I was slow reeling and twitching a Ned rigged baby brush hog. I trim about an inch off, pluck the front of the arms free from the body, and the fish were going nuts. Cool thing is now I can drop way points for what I find to remind myself to come back another day.

Submerged Vegetation
Slowly pull a swim jig with a Keitech 3.3 through deep grass. Not actually swimming but very slowly working it through submerged grass. Key in on submerged vegetation near docks.
