Smallmouth were caught in the shallower water slow rolling a small swimbait around logs. When the water warmed up the fish bit a lot better.

Smallies we're located in the Sand Cut Slough. They were in shallow water that was less stained. Fish were caught in 5' or less. The hot bait was a 3" Megabass Spark shad on spinning gear with a light weight head. Making long casts and swimming it back briskly triggered bites.

Great day for smallies on Chequamegon bay. Fish were willing to hit a variety of baits. Best were 3 inch swimbaits followed by YUM dingers rigged wacky style.
