Target chunk rock on 45° banks on secondary points In the first 1/3 of some major creeks. You should find the smallmouth and spotted bass staged up feeding on crawfish and the occasional school of threadfin that wander by as the bass refuse to chase bait very far at this time due to the cold water temps. However they are seceptable to shallow to medium driving cranks fished on light line and slow gear ratio reels.

Find a shoreline where there are small trees in the water and a ledge nearby. I had the most success where the boat was in 30-40’ of water and I was casting into 2-6’. They weren’t biting if I had a trailer on. Just the spinner bait retrieved at a casual pace.
