The water is starting to warm up and the temperature outside is rising. Fish are becoming very active pre spawn and chasing moving baits like spinnerbaits, swim jigs, and crankbaits. Fish can be found in and around areas of cover like lily pads that are growing.

Water level is extremely low. Lily pad stalks being exposed offer fantastic cover for fish that will be starting to make beds as the water continues to warm up. Fish are currently feeding after the long winter.

Shad
Bass are still pre-spawn because of the long winter. As the weather warms up schools of shad are moving into shallow water among the lily pads that are starting to grow. White and shad color spinnerbaits are working well, especially in bright sunlight. Under cloudy skies and chocolate milk colored water more natural darker colors such as bluegill have been working also.

A very chilly and windy morning after a massive front had come through. Bite was very challenging. In this tournament there were no limits. I landed 4 and lost a bunch of others. I ended up first place using the Frittside 5 in Red Craw most of the day. I did land one on the Neko Rig. Fish were mostly on the wind blown rip rap and along dock pilings.

The constant weather changes are keeping the bass a little slower than usual. Pitching/flipping creature baits is working well in the areas they are preparing beds.
