The bass were in small schools on small rocky points where the point stuck out of the weed line. The jig worked in the edge of the weeds and the ned rig worked out on the rocks just out from the weed line.

Saturday, 8/13/22 water temps 71 degrees, overcast winds 10-15 from the Northeast First time out on Borden and EVERYWHERE looks fishy. We had best luck fishing adjacent to the bulrush beds, NOT the wild rice beds. Caught a few LMB but the Pike were biting 10 to 1. A couple of LMB were caught on top water baits in open pockets of the bulrushes. After donating two chatterbaits and a 1/2 oz jig (to Pike) I switched to a white spinnerbait to control the bite-offs, mission accomplished.

Borden lake is covered in eel grass which can be difficult to fish. We found the first spot where there was no eel grass and it paid off. There is a marked buoy that’s surrounded by cabbage, we flipped brush jigs and were able to catch small mouth and largemouth.
