Spent the weekend on Birch Lake. Walleye fishing was slow, but the Smallmouth were on beds and hitting Top waters. Vixen, Spook Jr, Whopper Ploppers all produced well. Also threw a hover rigged flat worm as a follow up bait if they didn't get it the first few times.

Walleyes caught on wind-blown, rocky points in about 8-14' of water. Slip bobbers and leeches were the hot item for the first week of June.

18-23 ft of water on expansive flats near structure. We started at North of North Wilderness Resort and fished our way around until we found them. Minnows and wax worms both worked well.

      Points

Tried jigging. Scared fish away. Was ice fishing for 4 days. All fish on rattle reel. Plain red hook or white hook with a fathead. But fish are inactive and hard to fish for. But managed to get 3 crappies and a handful of walleye with 3 pike and 3 perch. 8am and 230pm seems to be the hit time of day.
