Targeted deeper lily pads around 2-4 feet of water with shade pockets. Fish were biting it on the fall. Lifting the bait and holding it right in the middle of the water column to get bites.

Slow bite. Threw just into the weed bed and did a slow retrieval with some light jigging.

Lily Pads
Bass were all over the frog. Pretty much anywhere shallow that there are lily pads. White worked pretty well but the natural gill color did best. The Jackall Kaera frog got the most bites. Walking it slow through any little open pocket of water in the pads was more productive than moving fast or twitching it. Fish were small, all 1-2 pounders but it sure was fun putting 30 of them in the kayak in a couple hours.

Baitfish
May 20th. Overcast day with a decent SW wind and a front coming through later. Water temps were 63. Jerkbaits in natural/ghost colors were getting hit hard! Found quality bass on schools of baitfish... all offshore or on the deep side of drop offs. Saw no bass in the shallows (less than 3ft BUT lots of crappies were up there) so they either spawn deeper or aren't quite there yet. Other techniques used on the same spots that produced an occasional fish were crankbaits and spinnerbait (Colorado blade.) Swimbaits didn't get bit (dark sleeper, mag draft.) If you mark a pile of baitfish, spend 10 minutes on them. It was rare to mark the bass under/near them but you could definitely see fish follow the jerkbait to the boat on your side imaging.
