Throwing a drop off in 10-16 feet of water by the point and the bay on the opposite sides on beltrami lake can hold big largemouth and smallmouth

Find rocky points or humps and drag a jig, texas rig craw, or tube jig for some nice sized smallmouth.

The post spawn blues are fading away on smaller Bemidji area lakes. Many of the largemouths stayed shallow are are hugging tight to clumps of the greenest grass you can find. Shallow pockets make it a natural choice to throw a frog around these areas.

Have been finding fish in the shallow flats. Some sitting on beds and others just cruising the shallows. Covering water has seem to produce the best results for me.

Smallies are moving up from their deep wintering holes to the shallows to spawn. Look for points, large boulders, or other “stopping points” and fish them thoroughly with moving baits - Jerkbaits have worked best.
