The post spawn blues are fading away on smaller Bemidji area lakes. Many of the largemouths stayed shallow are are hugging tight to clumps of the greenest grass you can find. Shallow pockets make it a natural choice to throw a frog around these areas.

Smallies are moving up from their deep wintering holes to the shallows to spawn. Look for points, large boulders, or other “stopping points” and fish them thoroughly with moving baits - Jerkbaits have worked best.
