All we caught near stump or fully submerged laydown right off the bank with boat in 10-15 feet of water. Had to be 3.3 size keitech, they wouldn’t hit the 3.8.

Casting 3" armor shad and easy shiners on a screwhead along laydowns on steep banks put a few dinks in the boat, BFS gear kept it fun. Had a few bites out deep on a wobble head, never hooked up.
