Still pre-spawn conditions. With the cloudy conditions and warming water temps; thought I'd try my luck with some pre-spawn buzzbait action. Caught A LOT of small pike but also hooked into some decent sized LMB.

Tried for largemouth around the weeds near the narrows, both shallow and out to 10 feet plus with no luck. Picked up a couple pike on a buzz bait tailed with the goat toadz near the culverts. Plenty of panfish swirling the surface.

Had a great pattern going on the outside edge of reed beds throwing swim jigs. The bass were not in the weeds, but just outside the edges especially near hard bottom. The real hot spots were near deeper drop offs. Throwing a swim jig/paddletail combo in bluegill color parallel to the reed beds was money!

Some great topwater bass fishing is starting to heat up as fish begin their fall movement back to shallow cover and mid-depth structure. Don't be afraid to fish a Whopper Plopper over 10, 12, even 15 feet of water. The fish will come up for it when they are hot! Good luck out there guys!
