The cadence didn’t seem to matter much but I kept changing it up. They crushed it no matter how I worked it!

Rock Pile
This lake looks great all over the place! Amazing docks, lush pad fields, good lay-downs and stick-ups, and channels can prove to be amazing during the late Summer times. If you spend the time and scan the lake you can find some mid-range to deep rock spines, and piles that will surprise you with smallmouths that you didn't know existed. Most anglers target the largemouth on this lake, but if you get into a correct pattern you can have a very fun largemouth day. There is definitely volume of bass in this lake - but takes time to find the big ones. Good luck!

Look for the outside weed edge and keep it fairly compact, hence why I like the 3/8oz vs 1/2oz swim jigs. For a trailer I really like the Berkley Grass Pig 3 1/2inch in Pearl White/Silver Fleck.

Reel snot was super important in keeping guides, line, and reels ice free in the sub 32 degree air temps. Fishing steep edges in 10 to 15 ft of water. Once fish were found then you would catch 10+ in that spot.
