Fished for walleyes out here one afternoon. Caught most in 8-12 FOW. Just in sandy points. Was using the scented jerk Shad as I didn't have any of my walleye gear with. So I pulled out my smallmouth stuff. I just let it sink to bottom and then snapped it back to the boat. Worked Well!

Fished 2024 opener out here. Was quite stingy and the fish were in a weird stage. Did most my damage in 10-14 FOW of rock humps. Check out the setups I have included and that rod and reel is seriously the best drop shot combo I've ever felt. And check out the flat worms. They just flat out catch em!

Found some submerged vegetation near some docks. I hopped the Baby D Bomb and would let it sit for a little bit. I saw my line jump and set the hook. VERY fun fight! 🤙🎣

Could not get bites on chatterbaits or frogs. Thankfully fish did bite Keitechs. Water seemed too warm for this early in the season (did we miss the spawn?) Fish were shallow, scattered and generally disinterested. Lots of pike.

Fish are moving off of the beds and pulling tight to the closest hard cover. Any wood cover I pitched to near spawning areas had a fish on it. Shad spawns in the mornings make for a fun bite also!

I went out to the lake with my best friend and tournament fishing partner Iain and my Dad for our first time on 05/11/24. It was a mostly sunny day with morning temperatures starting in the high 50's and high temperatures reaching up around 80 degrees by the end of our time on the water, with a slight southwest wind at about 5 mph throughout the day. Water temperatures on the lake ranged from 72-78 degrees, and water clarity ranged from 1 to 3.5 feet of visibility with a tannic color to it in places. We spent the day throwing wacky rigs, chatterbaits, and texas rigs in and around the wide array of standing timber and flooded brush that the lake has to offer, and had a great day for it being our first time there and having to break it down with no contour maps or idea of the layout of the bottom of the lake at all. We ended up catching 15 on the day in half a day of fishing, and missed probably just as many, with our best 5 being somewhere around 13-14 pounds and our biggest fish being a 5 even on the scale (pictured with the report). We concentrated our efforts on mixtures of timber and green bushes in 4-12 feet of water, the closer you could get to the actual bank the better, although it was a challenge finding areas of the lake where you could actually weave a bass boat through the trees and get close to the bank. However, when you found those areas, you always caught a bass or two! I hope this report helps you break down the new lake a bit faster and catch some good bass, tight lines!

Caught all my fish on a grn pumpkin fluke but I broke one big one off on a wacky rigged black and blue senko I might be giving up some juice but I’ve found out the bass around me get keyed in on dragon flies and a blk and blue senko works great for imitating them.

Fishing a swimjig over the top of already topping out vegetation. Weeds are already up in wasserman and water was warmer than anywhere else I've seen. Caught em on a straight retrieve and shaking it during the retrieve. Looks to be in the spawn still, tons of fish up shallow

Fishing vegetation starting to come up on opener. Fish were finicky. Had to fish extremely slow to get a bite. Seems like the fish were still offshore and prespawn for the most part. Did not find many fish up shallow. Fished in 5-8 ft of water.

Fishing was tough in the evening. The fish were chasing shad balls all evening, but they weren't too interested in what I was throwing. I caught a few smaller bass on spinnerbaits and swim jigs, but the biggest bass caught finally came on a buzzbait at sunset.

Fish were on the beds. Fishing conditions were tough with wind and low water visibility. Found some big mamas under some docks. Day started rough but picked up and ended well. Lot of Bass! 🤙

The fish seemed post-spawn. 4-8 foot of water off the breaks on the mile roads. We did not catch any pre-spawn bigguns! Disappointed! We fished May 6-9 in a lot wind. That made it tough. The drift sock helped, also drifted Baby Z-Too that caught several. A few walleye were caught also.

A bit slower than other openers, as fish seemed to be in a funk, but still solid. Most caught around 5-10’, but saw a few up shallow and the warm weather so have them up on the banks!
