Was on Alexander yesterday (6-20) and both the smallmouth bass and largemouth bass were going. Smallmouth - In the morning I targeted some hard bottomed areas where I thought they had spawned and found them feeding in 8ft-12ft of water. They appeared to be spawned out and the beds were vacant. All fish were caught on Ned’s and swimbaits. Switched gears and flipped for largemouth the rest of the day. Clumps of grass - in about 6-10 ft - preferably green is where I caught most of my fish. Key was to keep the trolling motor and low and to not get right on top of the grass your flipping. Another thing that helps me is not making really long casts. If I flip 20 ft away from the boat or less I seem to get a way better hooking percentage. I went through almost 5 packs of Strike King Rage tails so that should tell you the bite is good
