A lot of the bass have moved shallow to push small shad around on the surface. There is all kinds of bait up shallow and there's a ton of it. I threw everything I had in the kayak (dropshot, squarebill, chatterbait, senko, topwater) at these fish except for the jerkbait, and was only able to catch 2 fish in 2 hours. The last 15 minutes of my day, I finally rigged up a jerkbait and was able to catch 7 bass. There is so much bait in 5ft of water that the bass don't need to eat your dropshot or your topwater or your senko. Getting an aggressive bait down near them will do the trick.

Super tough day but managed to catch a few with a drop shot and 1 on a wacky rigged senko in green pumpkin. for some reason all my bites came in areas with no current, I don't really understand why that is, there were tons of shad schooling up along bluffs in open water but I could get any takers in those areas.

Slow slow & if you think you're going slow, then you need to SLOW DOWN MORE. Sometimes my jackhammer would hit bottom h paused there for a 5 seconds prior to bite! Slow down!

Threw a spinner bait very shallow, about 3-4 foot deep right up on the bank. There were brush piles in this little pocket that they were hanging out in.

The water is pretty low this time of year on Tim’s Ford but there’s a few pockets you can find. Was just throwing out into a pocket with some water and got this big guy.

I focused on areas about 30-40 feet from the bank. There’s good vegetation and cover around the bank areas and makes for hot spots for fish.

Went out in the afternoon, caught three fish, caught one on a Riot Raptor lipless crankbait in Seibold Red, on a bluff wall, boat was in about 15ft of water and throwing parallel along the bank. Caught a 2nd fish in on another Pass along this bank using a Rapala DT 6, in red craw color. Honestly probably could have kept throwing the Raptor but picked this up and caught another one. I moved to some of the coves down the lake some and started flipping Beaver houses and caught another on the Riot Fuzzy Beaver in Green pumpkin color with a WOO Tungsten flipping weight 3/8oz. I was out for about 4hrs, and caught three fish, smallest was just over a lb in weight and largest was just under 2lbs. Figured out a couple things in the bluff bank, probably could have caught a few more if I would have stayed out longer. Overall was happy with my day.

Drove around trying to find shad around seagulls but to no avail. I switched and started paralleling rip rap with chatter bait. Caught fish in 5 feet of water where there was a slight rounded point protruding from rip rap. I caught another bass about 100 yards down bank on Alabama rig. TVA was filling reservoir up as water was flowing into cove as I passed under bridge. Had another bass follow my rattle trap on grass flats.

Went out the day before all the cold hit TN, started fishing on Tellico Lake in the afternoon, fished a bluff bank the entire afternoon, caught three in 3 and half hours. First came on a jenko Purses Jerbait, was a just under 2lb smallmouth, then made another pass on the same bank with a Jenko Jpod double flash umbrella rig, with jerky j swim 3.5in albino shad baits and one kiatech 4in albino shad bait kn the middle. Caught a 5lb and about 20min later a 4.25lb largemouth on the same pass. When the clouds came in and the sun went away, that was it. Was a great day in my opinion even though it was cold.

Swinging for the bigs! Tons of fish coming off of grass lines with the Hog Farmer umbrella rigs! Paired with the largo shad they just can’t resist it! A medium retrieve speed in around 6ft-8ft range is the deal! Caught 30 one day and 20 the next with the biggest being a little over 7lb! It’s cold but it’s time for GIANTS on Chickamauga!
