Fish are currently in all stages of the spawn. Fish that are in pre spawn feeding patterns are holding under and around docks close to prime spawning. Skipping a worm under those docks gets a lot of quality bites.

Water is up again after the previous rainstorms over the past several days, which is a good thing. Was not sure on what to put for the products used because they are not on here currently. The bait used was actually the new "Rebel Raider" in the Citrus Shad color. The reel is the Ark Gravit BFS reel. The rod, the Cashion Icon 6' 8'' BFS ultralight, also not sold here yet. The 6' 10" light version sold here is probably the closest match. Bass are in pre-spawn mode at the moment and are eating in the shallows to bulk up. Another bait they seem to like is the 1/4-ounce Bomber crankbaits in the 2 inch version with the baby bass pattern. Eating their own kind perhaps?

Beautiful day but water temps produced a slower bite. Bouncing fluke up deeper holes produced some action.

Fishing report is for May 12th, water temps were in the upper 50's to low 60's. Weather was clear, with a decent breeze out of the Northeast. First time on this lake and I was scouting for a tournament later this summer. Tried a bit of everything. Up super shallow and saw a few spawners. Caught a couple fish on a chug bug (not Pop R) early near pads and matted weeds. Then caught my first frog fish of the year up super shallow. Then later with the trolling motor up high caught one on a small soft swimbait and lost a couple others. Overall a good day out on the water.

Report is for May 11, Fishing Opener. Weather was mostly clear, high pressure. Water temps between 56 all the way up to 65 later in the day up shallow. I got out scouting some new tourney lakes for me. Fish weren't quite as up shallow as I would have expected. Some of it I attributed to the high pressure system that rolled through Friday night. Overall scouting I caught and saw plenty, but no bigguns. Ran the trolling motor about 2 speeds higher than I normally would have to try to see more water. Fish were really out on the deeper edge of reeds, caught a few on an All Terrain jig with craw, half ounce. Also caught some early on topwater. Overall a good day of scouting!

I found bass hanging out in 8-10 FOW with the bluegills and crappies. Water temp was 64 degrees and nothing had moved up yet. Throwing a Rapala DT 6 on Shimano Mastiff FC 10# test was the best way to get a bite. Slowly cracking it back to the boat.

Got most hits on really loud crankbaits around rip rap and creature baits (6th Sense Prawn 4 inch) pitching and flipping to heavy lay downs and shallow grasses in the backs of the big creeks.

Only caught dinks all day, but we caught about 50. Rained off and on. Water was super clear, probably 6' visibility, which is quite good for this lake. Had a good time

I got the kayak out on this little public lake. They were definitely up shallow. I found some on beds, but they looked like they'd spawned already because they weren't super locked on and appeared to males from what I could tell. Northern strain bass get in and get out, I've never had very good luck finding them actively spawning. They were on the shallow and deep weed lines with most being on the shallow edge. Fun day with some bass close to home!

Cast into the current and just let it roll down the rocks. Still more in the deeper sections not shallow.
